The Teen Titans (Nightwing, Cyborg, Starfire, Changeling, Jericho, Lilith) get some publicity after they take down some “gun runners”. Adeline Wilson, Jericho’s mother, gets targeted by the president of Qurac. He hires Cheshire to kidnap Adeline. The Quraci intelligence agency has tracked her down through her ties to the Teen Titans, thanks in part of a newspaper article written about them in the wake of their recent tussle with arms merchants. Cheshire is happy to take the mission.

Act 2

Masato decides to spend his final hours getting more signatures on the petition to make the intersection safer. Yuki calls Masato’s boss again and discovers that he received an Ikigami. She doesn’t believe it at first. She decides to do what she can to make his final hours painful, once she confirms the fact that he is about to die. 

Masato heads to the office where the petition needs to be submitted after getting some more signatures. He only has 30 minutes left to live. He crosses paths with Yuki on the street. She is in her car and he is on a bicycle. She runs him off the road, turns her car around, and starts speeding towards him once again.

The cover says it all. This is the big, double-sized, wedding issue where Donna Troy and Terry Long get married. The wedding takes place at the estate of Changeling’s adopted father, Steve Dayton, the fifth richest man in the world. Gar spends a lot of time and effort trying to make sure everything goes off without a hitch, and for the most part it does.

I chose to wait until I was almost done reading this volume before I read the extras that were found at the beginning of this collection. I think I made the right call. There are some light spoilers but I don't think I would have gained anything by reading the extras before the comic strips.

Act 1

Hideki Mitsuya proposed to Yuki, his girlfriend. Yuki fears that his family won’t accept her. Hideki is killed less than an hour later by a truck driven by Masato Kitamura. Yuki’s life is destroyed. Hideki’s family doesn’t accept her when she shows up at the wake. 

Masato is convicted of vehicular manslaughter and sent to prison for 18 months. He tries writing to Hideki’s family while he is in prison but all the letters are returned unopened.

Forever fights Sonja. Neither wants it but neither has a choice in the matter. It is a bloody fight. Forever wins but Sonja survives because Sevara Bittner, her mother, insists that there was no condition set that the fight was to be to the death. 

Hock intended the fight as a diversion. He refuses to abide by the terms of the duel even if it means war. He spits in Malcolm’s face and then leaves. Malcolm collapses, foaming at the mouth, minutes after Hock departs.

Belasco toys with Ka-Zar. He shows him what he’s done to Buth and Dherk. He explains his plans for Shanna. He tells Ka-Zar about the deal he made with elder gods who need his help in order to cross the dimensions and seize control of the Earth.

Ka-Zar tries fighting back but he gets overwhelmed by Belasco’s creatures. He is thrown into a chamber where he almost freezes to death.  He breaks free just in time to foil Belasco’s plans with some help from the silent creatures from the City of Dis and Buth’s people. Belasco is thrown back into the pit and his creatures disintegrate as his powers wane.

Forever interrogates Jonah in a deserted service corridor. She learns from him about Johanna’s treachery, that she isn’t really Malcolm’s daughter, and the real purpose for all the pills she takes. She was ready to kill him and dump him into the ocean. She instead helps him to escape. Forever has to move quickly because the alarm sounded once it was discovered that Jonah was missing.

His journal recounts how he arrived in Pangea hundreds of years ago while pursuing Belasco who had abducted Beatrice, the love of his life.
