I don't recall exactly where I first encountered Batman. It might have been in a comic book. It might have been in the New Adventures of Batman cartoon which first aired in 1977. It might have been reruns of the 1960s Batman TV show. It might have been in episodes of Superfriends. I recall watching all of these shows back then but I'm just not sure where it began for me and Batman.
The first comic book series that featured Batman that I collected regularly was Batman and the Outsiders. I recall finding the first issue in Barbarian Books and getting excited because it was the start of something new. My excitement eventually waned and I moved on to buy and read other things.
