Luger finds out that Kinglsey’s daughter isn’t Kingsley’s daughter. Her name is Princess Dejon Ruhal. Luger and the princess are forced to run when the house comes under attack. The attackers are a militia of armed masked men. The masked men kill most of the guards. Luger and the princess jump from a tower into shark infested waters. They evade the sharks only to be captured by Kingsley and his masked men.

Reunion

The fight with the Sentinels in Anandale-on-Hudson continues and concludes. Cyclops, with a big assist from Sue Richards, reveals that Nightcrawler and other heroes are trapped within the armored bodies of the new Sentinels. The heroes end the fight and free their friends.

Sebastian Shaw gets into an argument with Henry Peter Gyrich. Shaw wants to unleash more mayhem but his reign of power comes to an end when the Sentinel Master Mold discovers that Shaw is also a mutant.

This is the first of twelve stories in what Carl Horak, author of the Terry and the Pirates Companion, considers to be the fourth era of Caniff’s run on the strip. This era began in late Jan 1942 and ran through early Nov 1945 and is called The War Years in the companion book.
