Love Story
by Marv Wolfman, José Luis García Lopez, Romeo Tanghal, Carlos Garson, Todd Klein, Adrienne Roy
A Tammaranian space ship makes its way towards Earth.
Lilith is formally welcomed on Mt. Olympus. The Teen Titans stick around for the ceremony. Zeus returns them to Earth after it is over. Everyone is happy to be back except Azrael who is distraught over being separated from Lilith. He flies off angry after no one on the team seems ready to help him recover his lost love. No one notices but some followers of Brother Blood take note and begin to make plans that involve the winged man.
The Titans go out for a bite to eat together and then go their separate ways. Nightwing and Starfire go back to his place. Cyborg tries calling Sarah but she doesn’t answer the phone. Changeling goes home and learns that Steve Dayton, his stepfather, is dying.
Kole goes home with Jericho. She wants to try to reconnect with her parents. Adeline Wilson, Jericho’s mother, helps her find a current address for her parents. Kole and Jericho go to visit her parents the next day and discover that her father is a mad scientist who has been experimenting on people, transforming them into all sorts of critters.
Thoughts
The image on the cover is where this chapter ends but they don't arrive at the house until the last five pages of the issue.
I get the impression that this is part one of a two-part story but that’s just a guess.
Sarah will be back in future issues but not on a regular basis, according to my research.
There’s a lot packed into this one issue. I echo Cyborg’s thoughts about Azrael but unfortunately I think that he will return. I was hoping for more along the lines of what is depicted on the cover than this issue delivered. Hopefully the next issue will make up for what was missing in this issue.
Titans Tower
Five letters from readers are spread across two pages. They are in response to the fifth and sixth issues of this series. The last of them suggests that Terry Long should get his own miniseries.
