I’m a little fuzzy on some of the details. Constance Dhar works for a law enforcement agency that deals with supernatural threats. All of her coworkers are dressed like priests but she is not. She has an on-again, off-again relationship with Bishop, one of her coworkers. It is unclear if Bishop is his title, name, or just a nickname but I’m leaning towards nickname. Hoffman, Connie’s boss, is a jackass who enjoys giving her a hard time. Connie’s super power seems to be some mystical abilities that help her to fight supernatural threats.

There are three stories or cases in this book. There are a couple jumps forward in time and one flashback. The flashback seems to be the second case and is to a time when Connie was in her late teens or early 20s. She was working with Father Sanford at that time. He’s the only character who’s dressed like a priest whom she actually addresses as if he is a priest. The first time jump is one year. I believe that marks the beginning of the third case, where Connie is forced to work with Agent Benson, a rookie. The second time jump is just a week and happens toward the end of the third case.

I got this book through Kickstarter. It is currently available for purchase through Part Time Comix Storenvy web shop, Amazon, and Comixology.

I like the panel layouts and the color. The action is good. I like the sense of humor and that they do let the pictures tell part of the story without injecting words to explain everything. I’m not sure where this is all going. Is there going to be more? The ending seems a bit open ended as if there might be plans for more but I can’t tell. Do Westhoff and Ornelas have a bigger arc in mind? I can’t tell based on this one issue but it feels like an introduction to something bigger.
