Rite of Passage!

The cover led me to believe that this issue was mostly going to be Cap vs. Doc Ock but it wasn’t.
Cap gets a message from someone he met during WWII. The guy was was a soldier who Cap met while they were both in Europe, fighting the Germans. They had a brief interaction when Cap borrowed Bill's motorcycle and used it against a German machine-gun position.
Cap visits Bill who now owns a motorcycle repair shop. Bill needs help locating his son, John, who joined the Huns, a motorcycle gang. Cap asks around and finds the gang in a barn. It seems like an odd location considering that the story is set in NYC. Cap has to impress the gang before they will let him talk to John.
They tie ropes to Cap’s wrists and pull him in opposite directions with two motorcycles. Doctor Octopus chooses this moment to break into the barn and attack Captain America. He isn’t in league with the Huns. He wants Cap’s shield. Cap deals with him fairly quickly. Doc Ock tries to get the Huns to help him, he even offers them money but they’ve seen enough. Cap impressed them. Doc Ock leaves in a huff, without Cap’s shield.
Cap talks to John. Something he says gets through to John. The next day John goes home to live with his father. A few days later John finds Cap and gives him a present, a new motorcycle.
I’m disappointed but once again I’m not surprised by the direction the story took.
