Cry for Blood (Part 4)

Helena and Vic take the bus back to Gotham. He asks and she tells him about her life, specifically between the time that her family was murdered and she first encountered Batman. She spent most of that time in Sicily or in boarding school in Europe. Her cousin Sal taught her how to fight without telling her what the family business was. She found out, eventually, after Sal and his family were arrested.
She tells Vic about returning to Gotham. She saw through all the lies. She saw the families for what they were. She didn’t know what to do until she saw Batman in action, saw him fearlessly take on her mobster kin.
The chapter ends with Helena and Vic entering her apartment only to find Batman waiting for them.
I really like the panel layouts in the flashbacks. I am also a big fan of how color was used, especially in the flashbacks. I don’t think this is the first time it was worth noting but it may have been the first time I have mentioned it.
I thought the image of young Helena holding a crossbow was a little heavy on the fan service. It would have been enough in my book to just show her staring at in longingly.
