Things continue to get worse. More and more superheroes are captured by EAGLE troops. Those who aren’t captured go into hiding. Mordecai Chalk is found near death, in Shadow Hill. Altar Boy is frustrated by the public’s lack of support for superheroes. The Confessor and Altar Boy narrowly escape a trap set by EAGLE troops.
The Confessor decides he’s had enough. He goes to confront the mayor. The troops are ready for him. They’ve figured out his secret, that he’s a vampire. They get him in the end but before he withers away he turns one of their weapons on the mayor and kills him. The mayor reverts to his natural shape, as he dies, that of an alien.
So I was right, but what now? The new troops that the “mayor” brought in are most likely more aliens. Is there going to be a big battle? Is that it? Or will the aliens leave peacefully now that they have been exposed? Somehow I doubt that is how it will go.
