Chapter 2: Gesicht
Inspector Gesicht talks to Professor Reinhardt, About the destruction of Mont Blanc. Reinhardt believes that Mont Blanc was murdered. There’s no way in his mind that Mont Blanc was destroyed by a malfunction.
Professor Hoffman performs some diagnostic checks on Gesicht to make sure that he is functioning normally. They talk a bit about the cases that Gesicht is working on.
Gesicht finds the patrol robot’s memory card and takes it to his widow. He helps her to install it in herself. She shows him Robby’s last moments. They spot something that the other policemen must have missed. Robby saw something that looked like a human jumping across a great distance, between buildings, just before Robby was killed.
Thoughts
Was it sloppy police work that caused them to miss this or do they just not care about a robot patrolman?
