Kate Felix flashes back to a childhood memory of the New Eden Police Department. It was the day that she first met Dennis Harvey. He was already a police officer at the time.
Thoughts
The flashback fills up 24 of the 32 pages in this issue. The narrative doesn't jump back and forth between the present and the past, seven of the eight pages that are set in the present come at the end of the story, after the flashback.
I love the visual storytelling in this issue. I especially like the way the panels are arranged and how they help to convey motion on pages 22 and 23. It's all so simple and yet so good.
There is more to the issue than my summary implies. There are other characters in it beyond Kate Felix and Dennis Harvey. I could explain all the little things that happen but I don't feel the urge or the need to do that.
