Robotman: The Dog Days of Crime
By Jimmy Thompson
Robbie the Robotdog runs off after he gets tired of Robotman. Robbie gets kidnapped by a gangster who tries to sell him to Mr. Gettit, a rich man. Robbie refuses to speak when he is brought to Gettit. The rich man loses interest in buying Robbie.
Robbie tricks the gangsters into breaking into Grayson Laboratory. Robotman is there and quickly deals with the gangsters.
Thoughts
Robbie is the star of this story. Robotman is once again relegated to the position of (at best) second banana.
Thompson uses an effect that looks a bit like paint splatter in the fight at the end of the story. It confused me at first but once I figured it out it was clear that it was meant to emphasize impacts. The effects were one of three colors: orange, blue, or red.
The story is a bit simple but it makes sense and I can see how it plays to the younger audience.
