Two would-be assassins, Bombshell and Oddball, watch from the rooftop of an adjoining building as Hawkeye and Mockingbird enter the building where Mockingbird lives. Minutes later a huge explosion destroys the building. Oddball is ready to celebrate but then they see the two superheroes fully intact.

Hawkeye practices archery on a makeshift target in an abandoned subway tunnel and thinks about the past 24 hours, until he collapses from exhaustion. A street gang finds him and try to rob him. He fights back, beats them up (despite being outnumbered and very tired), and then takes off on his sky sled. 

Hawkeye returns home only to find his apartment cleaned out. Mockingbird is on the roof of his building. He accepts her offer of assistance and they head back to her place. She tells him a little about her past and then runs out to buy some supplies while he gets some sleep.

El Águila breaks into Cross Technological Enterprises (CTE) but Hawkeye spots him coming a mile away. The two fight. Hawkeye wins and is ready to turn him over to the police but Ambrose Connors, Hawkeye’s boss at CTE, insists on showing Hawkeye what it is that El Águila was looking to steal. El Águila sees an opportunity and uses it to overpower Hawkeye and Connors and destroy the device.

Spider-Man runs into Hawkeye who is scared out of his mind. Hawkeye has just fled the scene of an attack on an armored car. Hawkeye was in the vehicle when it was attacked. It was transporting something of value for his employer, Cross Technology Enterprises (CTE). Mister Fear robbed the armored car and took a device that he expects will help him to build an atomic bomb.

Spidey and Hawkeye go looking for Mister Fear once the effects of the panic inducing gas wear off. They track him down to a penthouse apartment that overlooks the East River. They are ready for his tricks but Mister Fear still gets the upper hand momentarily. Hawkeye almost gets killed but in the end the heroes stop Mister Fear, recover the missing tech, and turn supervillain over to the police.

Hawkeye finds himself temporarily out of a job after he is replaced on the Avengers roster by Falcon. Hawkeye leaves Avengers mansion disgruntled but before long he lands a job at Cross Technological Enterprises (CTE) as their new security chief.

Deathbird breaks into Warehouse 12 during Hawkeye’s first week on the job. Hawkeye confronts her and they fight inside the warehouse. Deathbird seems to be too much for the archer to handle but Hawkeye evens the odds and defeats her. She is hauled away by CTE security guards but not until after Hawkeye kisses her, which enrages her.

Listen to the Mockingbird

Hawkeye (aka Clint Barton) is just minding his business when he finds himself enmeshed in something much bigger than he realized or expected.

Hawkeye, member of the Avengers and the head of security at Cross Technological Enterprises (CTE), is enjoying some time off with his girlfriend, fellow CTE employee Sheila Danning, when he gets alerted to a problem at CTE’s Long Island City location. He rushes there and finds Mockingbird breaking into one of the warehouses. She tells him that she has tracked the components of a “mass mind controlled device” to CTE.
