Two to Get Ready… and Three to Die!
By Arnold Drake, Bruno Premiani

Madame Rouge’s good side kills the evil side (actually that happened in the last issue) and pitches in to help the Doom Patrol fight the Mutants. She leaves the Brotherhood of Evil’s HQ without seeing or being spotted by the Brain or Monsieur Mallah. Even with the help of Madame Rouge, Beast Boy, and Mento the fight looks hopeless. Halley’s Comet is still headed for Earth. It’s proximity to the planet is causing natural and unnatural disasters.

The government tries firing "atom bomb missiles" at the comet (which has been pulled off its course by the mutants and is headed straight for Earth) but they don’t connect with the comet. The problem of the mutants and the comet isn’t solved until an alien named Selin lands on Earth and inadvertently shames the mutants into sacrificing themselves to prevent the comet from hitting Earth. Selin turns out to be a robot body with The Chief inside.

Robotman makes fun of Madame Rouge and the Chief. They act professional but it’s pretty clear that they have more than professional feelings about one another. For now it looks like she is one of the good guys but I know that won’t last forever.

Once again, another not so great story with some nice moments and plotting. I like the humor. I wish the villains were a little more three dimensional.
