The Last Flight of Rocketman Reynolds

by David Pepose, Jorge Santiago Jr, Jasen Smith, Colin Bell

Locke wakes up a prisoner. He is tied to a bed. A doctor who works for the mob injects him with an experimental cocktail of drugs. It seems to kill him but then he comes back to life and kills a couple of thugs who are getting ready to dispose of his body.

Locke is hallucinating since he came back to life. He thinks he’s Rocketman Reynolds, a character he used to pretend to be when he was a kid. He’s also having flashbacks to his abusive mother.

Spencer spends the whole episode trying to catch up to Locke and protect him. He saves Locke from getting shot at one point. He finally catches up to Locke who sees him as a monster, instead of as Pantharr, Rocketman Reynolds’ faithful sidekick.

The issue ends with Locke catching up to the Doctor and discovering or realizing that the man behind the mob is Augustus Locke, his father.

You Can’t Go Home Again

by David Pepose, Jorge Santiago Jr, Jasen Smith, Colin Bell

Locke, a police detective, investigates the murder of Sofie, a childhood friend. He is assisted by Spencer, an anthropomorphic panther, whom everyone else sees as a stuffed animal. Locke talks to Mrs. Scabtree, one of his elementary school teachers, and to Sofie’s mother and daughter, Hero. He learns from Hero that Sofie had recently been fighting with Stanley, her boyfriend.

Stanley was also a classmate of Locke in elementary school. Locke breaks into Stanley’s barbershop. He’s looking around, late at night without a warrant, when Stanley shows up and attacks Locke. He’s much bigger than Locke but Locke gets the upper hand thanks to a cigarette and a wooden chair, and knocks Stanley out.

Hero gets kidnapped by someone who calls himself Augustus Locke. He shows up at her grandmother’s place with armed men who kill her grandmother.
