There is very little of Velvet in this chapter. It is mostly Colt (aka X-32) and Sgt Roberts. Colt is new to the story, Roberts is not. Both men are pursuing their own leads in search of Velvet. Like Roberts, Colt didn’t know about Velvet’s background before the search for her began.
Midway through the chapter the two men cross paths in a pub. They compare notes, and theories about what she is really up to. Not long after the meeting the focus moves from Colt to Roberts. The chapter ends at Arc-7 headquarters with the reveal that Director Manning has been kidnapped.
Not a great chapter but I assume that ground is being laid for the next chapter or two.
