Velvet Templeton breaks into ARC-7 HQ in the midst of the chaos that ensues after a courier delivers her bomb threat. She gets in using the flying suit. She has to deal with Sgt Roberts who figures out what she’s up to at the last minute.
There’s a brief flashback to what transpired between her and Director Manning after she kidnapped him. She breaks in to Manning’s office and uses a red phone hidden behind a painting to contact someone at the Cornwell Institute. The chapter ends with Velvet on motorcycle chasing down a van that is transporting a prisoner.
Not a lot of fun explanation here. It didn’t feel like the plot was advanced much. Something happens other than Templeton’s fight with Roberts but that seems to be the centerpiece. Not quite as satisfying a chapter but still a good one.
