Jessica meets with Killgrave. He is acts strange. He talks about them like they are characters in a comic book. It makes no sense to Jessica. She can’t tell if he has gone around the bend or is doing this to annoy her, to deny her what she wants.
Jessica leaves the Raft empty-handed. Her goal was to get him to admit to some of the murders and disappearances that have not been officially attributed to him.
Soon after she gets back to the city she sees the news. Killgrave has busted out of prison. He has brought a bunch of other super villains with him. Jessica worries that he is in her apartment. She chases Malcolm out of there but doesn’t feel confident enough to enter it herself.
She’s turns to Scott Lang for help but then he turns up dead with ants crawling all over him.
I'm not sure what to believe at the moment. The book seems impossibly surreal. What if Jessica is still on the Raft? What if she is still talking to Killgrave and his words have her so mesmerized that she imagines she has left? What if all the things she sees is actually an illusion. I haven’t read this before but something weird is going on. I’m not sure what it is but I hope that the final chapter is satisfying.
