Ikigami: The Ultimate Limit Vol 1

Episode 2: The Last Song
Act 2
Days go by. Torio gets a gig to play on the radio. He still thinks about Hidekazu who also thinks about Torio. Neither of them reach out or attempt to make contact.
One day Torio gets home and finds a door tag telling him that someone attempted to deliver an Ikigami. He’s freaked out. He eventually calls. Fujimoto comes by in the middle of the night to officially deliver the notice that Torio is about to die. It is a requirement of the job. The Ikigami is an official document. It comes with certain privileges.
Torio is once again conflicted. He’s torn and doesn’t know what to do. He doesn’t reach out to anyone. He decides the show must go on and that he must do the radio show. Hidekazu experiences some bad luck as he is hit by a car while making a delivery. The chapter ends with him unconscious and in an ambulance as Torio heads off to do the radio program.
This was a decent middle act to this episode. This episode doesn’t have the tension that the last one had. It is much more subtle. I did like the double page spread where Torio finds the door tag. He is truly freaked out by it and it shows.
