Episode 2: The Last Song
Act 3
Torio goes through with the radio performance. The show is a half-hour long and begins 30 minutes before Torio is scheduled to die.
There is a lot of cutting back and forth between Torio and Hidekazu, who is unconscious, near death and in a hospital. Torio is extremely nervous about his choice. It isn’t until the last minute that he finds his confidence. Instead of playing the song the promoter wants him to play he goes with one that Hidekazu wrote for them.

Episode 1: The End of Vengeance
Act 1
A brief introduction to the premise behind the series: The National Welfare Act. All children receive immunization shots when they begin a elementary school. One in 1000 of those kids will not live to see adulthood. That’s because 1 in 1000 of those inoculations contains a capsule that will cause the recipient to die sometime between the ages of 18 and 24. The ostensible reason for doing this is to make the citizens of Japan more thankful for what they have. The hope is that the knowledge that they may die young will push students to work harder and be the best they can be.
