07/20/21 - Page 101 - Guide to Comic-Con: Cosplay - Pac-Man
This is a pie chart and just plain silly. There is no explanation of what it is supposed to be. My best guess is that it illustrates the frequency with which people cosplay as Pac-Man and the ghosts.
07/21/21 - Page 102 - Guide to Comic-Con: Cosplay - Wolverine
This chart looks like part of a hand with three claws sticking up. Each claw represents a different defining feature of Wolverine’s appearance. I’m lukewarm on this chart, partly because I don’t see where this information came from and partly because it seems like there are probably other defining features that could have been included.
There are four charts, each for a different category of costume, on this page. The four categories are Star Wars, Underwater, Cartoons, and Johnny Depp. Each chart shows where costumes that fall into that category fall on two axes: dignity and amount of skin shown. There are no costumes that fall in the middle of these charts.
07/23/21 - Pages 104-105 - Manga Murder: Outsmarting Death
This chart ranks the characters of Death Note, a series which I have not read, by intelligence rating. It also shows the character affiliations of the ranked characters. There are 9 categories of affiliation. This looks interesting but isn’t enough to entice me to want to read the series.
07/24/21 - Pages 106-107 - Boom Boom Pow
There are 4 charts on these two pages which all have to do with the inclusion of superheroes in rap lyrics.
07/25/21 - Page 108 - A Personal History of Saying “Good Grief”
This is a Peanuts themed chart which seems like yet another silly attempt to turn something from a comic strip or comic book into a chart. How accurate is it? I have no idea.
07/26/21 - Page 109 - Alter Egos: Bobby Digital vs Batman
This chart compares RZA to Bruce Wayne. They have a lot in common.
07/27/21 - Pages 110-111 - All in the Family: Mapping the Relationships of the New Gods
This chart is confusing. It probably doesn’t help that I have not read Jack Kirby’s Fourth World stories.
There is a lot of blank space on the first of these two pages.
07/28/21 - Pages 112-113 - Spy vs. Spy
The charts and text on these pages provide some stats and background on the origins and history of this mainstay of Mad Magazine. Very well done.
07/29/21 - Page 114 - Jet Set: Avengers vs. X-Men
Several charts compare the two team jets. Presumably the information for these charts came from the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe.
